It has been a joy to serve at Chatham Baptist Church since March of 1991. I served as Minister of Education and Youth at CBC until October of 1998 when I transitioned to be the Minister of Education and Administration.

I was born in McComb, Mississippi on December 27, 1958 and lived in that area until graduating from College. I received a degree in Biblical Studies from Mississippi College in 1980 and graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1983 where I received a Masters of Divinity Degree.

I married Sydney Lanier in April of 1984 and she has been a faithful and supportive wife. We have been blessed with two wonderful children. We love the Chatham community and cherish the relationships we have developed at CBC.

I was born and raised in Iowa, and came to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of 14. God surrounded me with Christian friends in high school that challenged me and helped shape my relationship with Jesus. I was blessed with a scholarship to Southeast Missouri State University, where I immediately became involved with the Baptist Student Union. At the BSU my faith was further challenged as God led me to opportunities to minister to other students by leading Bible studies and also by serving as part of the BSU leadership team.

During my sophomore year at Southeast, I met Joni Hutton at the BSU. Joni was a freshman from Edwardsville, Illinois, and we became friends quickly. Over the next few years, our friendship developed into more, and in 1998, we were married. During our years of marriage, God has allowed us to be involved with church plants, college Bible studies, and small group ministry. He has also blessed us with four sons: Jimmy (born 2001), Nate (2002), Truett (2004), and Abe (2007).

We came to CBC from Jeffersonville, Indiana, where we lived for over 4 years. Prior to that, we lived in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Before coming to CBC, I worked at Boeing, Rubbermaid, and Clarke American. I have also served as Student Ministry Intern at Oak Park Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and studied at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. We are excited about what God is doing here at Chatham Baptist Church, and there is nowhere else we would rather be. I desire for my life to reflect what Paul says in Acts 20:24 - "I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God."

Since August of 2004 I have been the Minister of Preschool at CBC. My family moved to Chatham from Oklahoma City where I served as an Administrative Assistant for the Weekday Ministry of Quail Springs Baptist Church. I have also served as a Supervisor of the Infant and Toddler Development Program for the Mental Health Services of Southern Oklahoma which is located in Paul's Valley Oklahoma.

I received my B.S. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Oklahoma in 1975, and my Early Education Certification from Southeastern Oklahoma University in 1990.

I have committed my entire adult life to working with children because this is God's special calling for my life. I believe preschool ministries are vital to the health of a growing church. Please check out our preschool ministries under ministries on the home page of our website. I look forward to meeting you soon.

It is a joy leading worship each week at Chatham Baptist Church. For many years I served as a volunteer leading worship at Calvary Baptist Church in Pittsfield, Illinois and also at Chatham Baptist. In 2000, I was led to serve as a bi-vocational Minister of Music at CBC. I also work as the Deputy Clerk - Accounting Manager of Sangamon County Circuit Clerk's office.

I was born February 17, 1959 and married Angela McEuen in September of 1979. God has blessed us with two children.

Guests are always welcome so please join us for worship. If you are gifted musically there are many opportunities for you to share your gifts through music.

God called me to be Chatham Baptist Church's Ministry Assistant in May 2006. I absolutely love my ministry and the people here. What a joy and blessing to be a part of His work at CBC and in the surrounding communities.

My husband Jim and I have 10 of the greatest grandkids in the world and love being with them as much as we possibly can. Oh yeah, we do have 5 children and their mates too.
