Murphysboro, Illinois and the Elm Street Baptist Church were the primary locations of my growth and development. Born on Easter Sunday, April 18, 1954 I was raised in the church from birth. I committed my life to Christ in November of 1962 and, in April of 1975, God called me to serve in pastoral ministry. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Southwest Baptist College in 1977, my Masters of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1980 and my Doctor of Ministry degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky in 1990. I have served as pastor of three churches and as the Director of Missions for Capital City Baptist Association previous to coming to Chatham Baptist Church in October of 2008.
My partner in life and ministry is Marcia. We have five adult children and two daughters in law; Dafney of Springfield, Dirk (Jennifer) of Gilbert, Arizona, Braden (Dona) of Seattle, Washington, Gavin and Nathan, both of Springfield. We reside in Chatham and deem it a privilege to serve Chatham Baptist Church and the Chatham community.
