“Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth!” (Psalm 108:5, ESV).
Psalm 108 begins with David’s reflection on his desire for worship and to glorify God for His unfailing love (vv.1-4). This is the outpouring of a grateful hearts. Just as God’s “steadfast love is great above the heavens”, so the psalmist extols “Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!” May the Lord be glorified by His grateful people, for the unchanging mercies of His steadfast love.
God is great, and worthy of the highest exaltation. Our right response to His enduring love is to worship Him with gratitude and joy. In the beauty of these Spring days, give glory to God, who shows His love in the awakening world; in days of sorrow and uncertainty, give glory to God, whose love abides and carries us through the perils of this life. May God be exalted above the heavens, and in the hearts of His people.
