All His Ways

“The LORD is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works” (Psalm 145:17, ESV).

This verse puts into a memorable couplet the absolute goodness of God. In His every way—all His acts and decisions—God is righteous, just, good; in His every work—all His deeds—God is kind, gracious, good. Since we live in the midst of His mercies, let us give thanks for His goodness, and learn to lean on Him.

Gracious God, give us faith to live grateful for your blessings and trusting to your wisdom. All this wonderful world is your work, made and sustained by your power; and we are your creatures. As we see your greatness and our smallness, help us to grasp also your goodness, that our lives may be for your glory.
