Bless the Lord
“Come, bless the LORD, all you servants of the LORD, who stand by night in the house of the LORD!” (Psalm 134:1, ESV).
Another brief Song of Ascents, Psalm 134 calls for God’s people to bless the Lord (vv.1-2), and asks the Lord’s blessing upon His people (v.3). The triple repetition of the covenant name (LORD) in this first verse lays heavy emphasis on the priority of God. He is to be blessed by His servants who wait upon Him. And He is able to bless, as ruler over His people and Lord of all.
Turn your heart to God in praise. It is the privilege of those who belong to Christ to serve the Lord and glorify His Name. We are distracted and tempted by so many things, and pulled away from the priority of worship. But God is worthy of all honor and praise. Let us bless the Lord, and glorify Him with our days.
