Call on Him

“Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live” (Psalm 116:2, ESV).

Verse two elaborates on the gratitude with which this psalm began, pointing from God’s faithfulness in the past to the psalmist’s commitment to relying upon Him in the future. This ties in with a significant biblical theme of reciting and remembering the mighty acts of God, in order to inspire faith and faithfulness among His people. Salvation is God’s work, at His initiative and by His grace; the wise look upon what God has done, and cling to Him in every need.

May God’s faithfulness encourage you as you face each day’s challenges. He is able, in every situation, to comfort, strengthen, and restore. God has shown His power and love; let us loyally love and trust Him as we walk through this life.
