“Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem’” (Luke 24:46-47, ESV).
Easter is news of hope, and comes with a wonderful promise for all who believe. These verses record Christ’s words to the disciples as He revealed what the Old Testament Scriptures foretold about His saving work. Easter brought them a commission, as heralds of the resurrection, to proclaim the good news to all who would repent, believe, and receive the forgiveness Christ has won for us.
May the goodness of God’s promises, the love of the cross and the power of the resurrection fill your days with hope. May the newness of life in Christ strengthen you with joy in every challenge and circumstance.
