He Is Good

“Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!” (Psalm 118:1, ESV).

With these same words Psalm 118 begins and ends (vv.1, 29). The next few verses extol the people of God to repeat the second clause, to proclaim that “His steadfast love endures forever” (vv.2-4). The kindness of God and His enduring love prompt our hearts to grateful praise. God’s people have hope because His grace perseveres, and even in all our failures we may find it.

Let us embark on this week with gratitude to God. He has been so kind to us, and His love endures. In all our hardships and fears, He is able to bring us through—and He will bring His people safely home. May the unfailing love of the Lord God Almighty strengthen you today.
