“He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep” (Psalm 121:3-4, ESV).
The psalmist looks to God, who created all things, for deliverance (vv.1-2). God is able to guard and deliver His people from every trouble. He can keep His children standing firm, for His unceasing vigilance watches over them. Thus these verses emphasize that God doesn’t sleep; there is no time at which He is caught off guard and unable to help. We can trust Him at all times.
Entrust yourself to the all-trustworthy God. He is able, and He is faithful. When we go through hard times, when we face tragedies and trials, God has not failed or deserted us. He is with us, whatever we face. He can enable us to stand in the midst of trouble, and to rise above the challenges that come against us. In the end, He will bring His children safely home.
