“For the LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance” (Psalm 94:14, ESV). The hope and assurance of Psalm 94 is grounded in the sovereignty and faithfulness of God. The failure of human schemes is due to the omniscient judgment of God (vv.4-11); sanctification and deliverance are alike God’s work (vv.12-13). The drama of redemption describes the wonder that God has chosen a people for Himself, His possession, His inheritance—and He has taken upon Himself the salvation of those who turn to Him.
Hold fast your confidence in God’s redeeming love. The Lord is our hope in every danger, our comfort in every failure, our merciful Savior. When the world is shaken, God is steady; when the wicked appear triumphant, Christ is still King. Stand steadfast in the darkest days; God will not forget His own.
