“Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!” (Psalm 107:8, ESV).
There is a second refrain in Psalm 107, this call to grateful praise, which like the first refrain appears four times through the psalm (vv. 8, 15, 21, 31). When, as the first refrain says, those who call out to God and find His deliverance, it is right for the cry of distress to turn into a shout of thanksgiving.
Remember the wonderful works of God, and worship Him in gratitude. It is too easy for us to call on God in our time of need, and forget Him when life goes well; it is also too easy, in our desperation, to forget all the kindness God has shown in the past and the hope for the future that His faithfulness should bring. May grateful praise set the tone for your day, and may the love of the Lord be your joy.
