In His Glory

“Nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth will fear your glory. For the LORD builds up Zion; he appears in his glory; he regards the prayer of the destitute and does not despise their prayer” (Psalm 102:15-17, ESV).

These verses underline the awe-inspiring wonder of God’s salvation. The initial phrase about the widespread fear of the Lord may prepare us to hear of some terrible act of judgment; instead, we then read that it is God’s redeeming work that will inspire such reverence. The God who is able to lift up and restore His people is to be feared, and sought in worship and awe.

May gratitude and awe sustain you as you meditate on God’s saving work and the power of His promises, through whatever challenges your days may bring.God is strong to rescue and rebuild His people, to redeem all who come to Him in faith.May the saving power of God strengthen you this day.
