“Oh sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him” (Psalm 98:1, ESV).
Psalm 98 begins with a summons to praise, extolling the greatness of God with an emphasis upon His mighty redeeming works. The exhortation to ‘a new song’ underlines creativity and heartfelt devotion, and perhaps draws our minds to the newness which God’s saving work brings to our lives. Redemption is wholly the work of God, who accomplishes it by His holiness and strength.
Turn your thoughts to the saving work of God, and glorify your wonderful Redeemer. The Lord is righteous and strong, holy and mighty; He reaches down to the lost with the power of His salvation, and makes holy a people for Himself. May the redemptive power and love of God be your joy as you journey through this day.
