“I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts” (Psalm 119:99-100, ESV).
The psalmist highlights God’s teaching as the greatest source of wisdom and understanding. God’s Word is superior even to the usual sources of wisdom—learned instructors and wise elders. God’s counsel is greater than the counsel of men, however discerning. Those who would be wise should earnestly meditate upon what God has spoken.
Turn your heart and mind to God by meditating on His Word. We have the wonderful privilege of access to God’s written Word—the Bible—by which we may learn ever more the wonders of God’s ways and works, and strengthen our faith in God the Word incarnate—Jesus Christ our Lord.
