My Strength and My Song

“The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation” (Psalm 118:14, ESV).

Throughout this psalm we have seen gratitude for God’s deliverance and the victory He gives to His servant. Verses 10-13 repeat their praise of the Lord’s mighty strength. In this fourteenth verse the psalmist’s joy springs forth in memorable poetry: “The LORD is my strength and my song”. Our right response to God’s saving work is to thank and praise Him, to rely upon Him and to delight in Him.

May God be your strength and your song today. May the blessed reminders of His wonderful salvation given to us in Jesus Christ lift up your spirit today to praise our wonderful Redeemer.
