Out of My Distress

“Out of my distress I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me free” (Psalm 118:5, ESV).
After four verses proclaiming the steadfast love of the Lord, the Psalmist now turns to how he has experienced that love. He has known the compassion and saving power of God. He can recollect the place of distress he was in, the plea for God’s deliverance, and the mighty working of the arm of the Lord for his rescue.
Remember the mercies of God. When you are burdened, when you are weary, when troubles weigh on you and worries plague you, remember the mercies of God.God has reached down to us and given us the gift of new life in Christ.God has promised us His presence in every trial, His fatherly care, and the unshakable hope of eternity.
