Refuge

“It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes” (Psalm 118:8-9, ESV).

The psalmist has reflected on God’s deliverance and the unfailing hope that is found in Him (vv.5-7). Now he compares God’s powerful help with the instability of hoping in man. People, even mighty rulers, cannot compete with the Lord. God does not fail those who turn to Him.

Trust in the Lord wholeheartedly.In every challenge and fear, He is able to protect and preserve His people.God is compassionate and kind, wise to guide and strong to save.When we rely on ourselves we are weak, but in Him we can have unshakable confidence.
