“Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture” (Psalm 100:3, ESV).
Psalm 100 alternates between summons to worship and declaration of God’s loving care. After the exuberant exhortation of verses 1-2, the third verse reminds those called to worship that they belong to God and that He looks after them. Worship is motivated both by a recognition of God’s greatness in Himself and by gratitude for His loving kindness.
May you rejoice today in the greatness and goodness of God. The Lord alone is God, and His victory is assured. He is our Creator, and holds all things in His hands; He is our Redeemer, who has drawn us to Himself in Jesus Christ the Son. May you take comfort in the mercy and might of your shepherd as you face whatever challenges life brings.
