“Who can utter the mighty deeds of the LORD, or declare all his praise?” (Psalm 106:2, ESV).
After beginning with a call to praise, the psalmist underscores the insufficiency of our worship to match the majesty of God. His glory calls forth our praise, but we can never adequately describe Him; His deeds call forth our gratitude, but we can never comprehend the greatness of His work. So part of our worship is found in declaring that God is greater than we can declare, that our praises only point to His majesty, never reach it.
Exalt the Lord, who is worthy of worship, exceeding all that our hearts can give. Turn your thoughts to Him, and consider that His power is greater, His love deeper, His wisdom higher, His holiness purer, than we can even imagine. May the unfathomable greatness of God lift you up, and move your soul to praise.
