Who Is Like the Lord?

“Who is like the LORD our God, who is seated on high, who looks far down on the heavens and the earth?” (Psalm 113:5-6).

Psalm 113 proceeds to turn the exaltation of God to a reflection on His saving sovereignty. God is above all the powers of this world (v.4). The rhetorical question in verses 5-6 invites us to compare the Lord to all others and return the verdict ‘No one! No one is like God!’ His utter supremacy means confident hope and assured joy for all who belong to Him.

Rely on God Almighty, whose sovereign majesty is over all. May the uniqueness and mastery of God bring you courage as you face the challenges of the day. Nothing is unseen by Him or beyond His reach. When we are week, He is strong; when we fail, He is faithful; when we can’t see the way, He remains our Guide and King. Let the remembrance of God’s exaltation steel your heart to face the world.
